Apoorva and Deeksha Marur spent the lockdown experimenting sauces, ingredients and doing cooking trials at home. Their trials were of dishes they don’t easily get in the vicinity of their home. Their trials were to finalise a menu that would give shape to an idea they had come up with their late father Vijay Marur — a food truck. They named it Truckin Foodie’ … [Read more...] about Truckloads of flavours: Truckin Foodie

Moth kachori at home, from East Delhi’s Nagpal di Hatti
I found out that Nagapl was on Zomato, so I promptly placed an order for two plates (₹40 a piece; ₹75 for two), and since I was going down the greasy path, a plate of chholey bhaturey (₹90). Because one should have a balanced diet, I asked for a plate of saag (greens) and rice (₹80) as well. All this at ₹449 — street food rates. … [Read more...] about Moth kachori at home, from East Delhi’s Nagpal di Hatti
The chosen friend of Siva
For instance, in describing the life of Sundarar, it is first indicated that Sundarar, Paravaiyar and Sangiliayar have come from Kailasa to live on earth for a brief period on the Lord’s command. Though not aware of their past state, they feel the power and force of Siva’s boundless grace that guides their life. The Lord intervenes to turn Sundarar into the path of devotion. Seeing Sundarar hesitating, Siva suggests the very word Pitha to begin the hymn. … [Read more...] about The chosen friend of Siva

Besides this, Raveendran Nair, secretary of the 164-acre Venneli paadashekharam, says that Krishi Bhavan should give the entire seed stock for free. Both Nair and R. Vinod, the convenor of another 330-acre paadashekharam, insist that with “three motor pumps of 70 hp, the fields can be drained in 15 to 20 days.” Jayan believes they can expect at least the normal yield of 12-13 quintals per acre of paddy crop in the March harvest.” … [Read more...] about Kerala’s rice bowl is submerged. ‘The polity has changed and so has judicial temperament’: Aniruddha Bahal
No, that is very unfair. Cobrapost’s undercover stories are invariably driven by prior information. It is middlemen in the know leading us to the main characters. In fact, when the Rajya Sabha Parliamentary panel was examining our investigation into MPs taking money to ask questions in Parliament, one of the panel members, I think Bimal Jalan, wanted to know how we chose our “targets”. I had to explain that we don’t target anybody, and that the middlemen of the MPs themselves led us to whoever was indulging in such behaviour. I think, for many, this [sting journalism] is something to diss because of the attention the stories get. … [Read more...] about ‘The polity has changed and so has judicial temperament’: Aniruddha Bahal
