Melbourne: If things go as per plan, cricket fans might be able to see Australia and India engage in two day-night Tests in 2021. If that happens, India`s tour of Australia could become the first series ever to feature more than one pink-ball Test. According to a report in ESPNcricinfo, when Australia visit India next year for a limited-overs series in January, a Cricket Australia (CA) delegation, led by its chairman Earl Eddings, is set to meet the new BCCI administration with the question of day-night Tests on the agenda. MUMBAI, Jan 14 (Reuters) - Captain Parthiv Patel hit an attacking 143 on the final day to lead Gujarat to a maiden Ranji Trophy title with a five-wicket victory over heavyweights Mumbai in Indore on Saturday. The diminutive wicketkeeper-batsman also top-scored for his side with 90 in the first innings, giving Gujarat a crucial 100-run lead after Mumbai were restricted to 228 in the title match for India's domestic first-class championship. Mumbai, who were aiming to claim a 42nd title, improved in the second innings and set their opponents a winning target of 312, leaving Gujarat needing to complete the highest final run chase in tournament history to claim the title. Mumbai skipper Wasim Jaffer overtook former teammate Amol Muzumdar (8237 runs) as the highest run-getter in Ranji Trophy while notching 82, as his team overhauled Punjab's modest first innings total of 226, on the second day of the Elite Division Group A match in Mumbai on Thursday.Jaffer (8271) needed 50 runs to go past Muzumdar, who had overtaken Amarjeet Kaypee (7553) two years ago while playing for Assam, and reached the milestone during the course of his 187-minute stay at the crease at the Wankhede stadium in his 100th match.
