OPEC to ease production curbs to fulfill their promise of stable oil prices . Though the average price of crude oil India imports was less than USD 50 per barrel between April and December 2020 and comparable to 2019-20 average rate of USD 60.47 in months thereafter, petrol and diesel prices are at a historic high now as the government has so far not rolled back the taxes it levied when prices plummeted almost a year back. The record taxes coupled with international rates returning to pre-COVID levels on resurrecting demand have meant that petrol has crossed Rs 100 mark in some places in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra. Speaking at the CERAWeek conference by IHS Markit , Oil Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said India, where fuel demand is recovering to pre-pandemic levels, wants reasonable and responsible oil prices. India, the world's third-biggest oil importer and consumer, had supported the decision of the oil producers' cartel OPEC and its allies to cut ... » Learn More about India asks OPEC+ to fulfill promise of stable oil prices

Isuzu to increases prices of D-MAX range of commercial pick-up trucks
utility vehicles maker Isuzu on Thursday said it will increase prices of its commercial pick-up range D-MAX Regular Cab and D-MAX S-CAB by Rs 1 lakh with effect from April 1. Sluggish physical oil sales struggle to match futures price surge
LONDON: A four-month rally in the oil futures price from below $40 a barrel to above $60 now is out of step with demand, analysts and traders say, with physical sales only expected to match supply later in 2021. The price has surged since the start of November, buoyed by expectations of an economic recovery as governments promise more stimulus, producers rein in output and vaccine rollouts offer hope that the worst effects of the COVID-19 pandemic are over. But physical demand for crude from refiners and other end users has yet to catch up, with cargoes to key markets like China broadly trading at lower prices amid sluggish sales. "The current rally is not justified by oil market fundamentals, therefore it must be driven by financial investors. They are basically borrowing physical demand from the second half of the year," said PVM Oil analyst Tamas Varga. J.P. Morgan said the benchmark Brent futures contract , which neared $68 a barrel last week before slipping to ... » Learn More about Sluggish physical oil sales struggle to match futures price surge
OPEC+ debates whether to raise or freeze oil output as price recovers
DUBAI/MOSCOW: OPEC and its allies in will decide on Thursday whether to freeze oil output or raise it slightly from April as a recent price rally is clouded by concern over the fragility of economic recovery during the COVID-19 pandemic. The market has been expecting the OPEC+ group of producers to ease supply cuts by about 500,000 barrels per day (bpd) from April. OPEC's de facto leader Saudi Arabia has also been expected to partially or fully end its voluntary production cut of an additional 1 million bpd. But three OPEC+ sources said on Wednesday that some key members of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) had suggested that output across the OPEC+ group should be kept unchanged. It was not immediately clear whether Saudi Arabia would end its voluntary cuts or extend them, they said. Russia has been insisting on raising output to avoid prices spiking any further and lending support to shale oil output from the United States , which is not ... » Learn More about OPEC+ debates whether to raise or freeze oil output as price recovers
