Cab aggregators like Ola and Uber have been able to offer just 25%-50% of the rides they had been offering in the pre-Covid phase, say industry sources and drivers.J Ramanujam of the Tamil Nadu Call Taxi Owners Association said that a driver in the city, on an average, has been getting just 2-3 bookings a day now. Despite the offer of hand sanitisers and drivers using face masks, many customers remain wary of boarding cabs with fear at the back of the mind. Some drivers have even placed plastic screens between them and passenger seats, but few customers remain reassured.
