Sunday hikers watch the lava flowing from the erupting Fagradalsfjall volcano. FAGRADALSFJALL, Iceland: Thousands of curious onlookers have flocked to an erupting volcano in Iceland to marvel at the hypnotic display of glowing red lava, the bravest of them grilling hot dogs and marshmallows over the smoldering embers. The eruption of a fissure near Mount Fagradalsfjall, which began late Friday, was the first in the same volcanic system in about 900 years. The volcano is located only about 40 kilometres (25 miles) from the capital Reykjavik and can be reached after a 90-minute hike from the nearest road. "It's absolutely breathtaking," says Ulvar Kari Johannsson, a 21-year-old engineer who spent his Sunday visiting the scene. "It smells pretty bad. For me what was surprising was the colours of the orange: much, much deeper than what one would expect," he tells AFP. The incandescent lava bubbles and spurts from a small cone in the Geldingadalur valley, piling up in the basin ... » Learn More about Thousands flock to Iceland’s erupting volcano
JAKARTA (The Jakarta Post/ANN): Publicly-listed PT Indosat, Indonesia’s third-largest telecommunications firm, recently sealed a deal to sell more than 4,200 towers worth US$750 million in raising capital to expand its internet network in the country. A few months ago, I realised my Instagram feed was being surreptitiously filled with a series of hedonistic, sinfully decadent images and videos of ... cookies. Very often, these visual stimuli depicted huge, chunky New York-style cookies broken apart to reveal thick streams of chocolate/marshmallow/peanut butter oozing out of tender, doughy cores. This powerful virtual sensory experience was so masterful; it was enough to propel an instant purchase (I certainly fell for it hook, line and sinker). But the more I looked at these images, the more I realised just how many home-based businesses were quite suddenly selling cookies in the online market. These days, there are at least 30 Klang Valley home businesses (and counting) on Instagram dedicated to selling all sorts of cookies – chewy, ooey-gooey, soft-baked, stuffed, huge – whatever your predilection, there’s a cookie out there for you. Interestingly, most of these cookie businesses are very, very new – at least 95% of them ... » Learn More about Online cookie businesses are huge pandemic hits

When I started getting a persistent backache a few months into working from home, I knew something had to change. For almost two years now I’d been using the same dining chair in my home office, which had been good enough — that is, until I found myself sitting in the chair for hours at a time, day after day. It was time to invest in a proper office chair. The problem was, it was not easy finding one that gave me the support and room I needed, looked good, and was in a reasonable price range. The aesthetics were especially important to me, since I had spent a lot of time perfecting the look of my home office, and I didn’t want a clunky chair ruining the look. Enter the Secretlab chair, said to be the gold standard in the gaming industry. I had heard a lot about this chair, given that it’s a local company, and my guy friends sang its praises. But did I really need one, and more importantly, was it suitable for a woman whose greatest gaming achievement is clocking over 40 hours in ... » Learn More about Does a Secretlab fit into the life of a style-conscious homeowner who prefers a more feminine aesthetic?
