The Bombay High Court on Friday rejected the application of three senior women doctors, accused of abetting the suicide of their junior colleague Payal Tadvi, seeking to enter BYL Nair Hospital and TN Medical College to complete their Masters. The court took note of the statement of the HoD at Nair Hospital which mentioned that there is extreme hostility in the hospital against the three accused and their presence may affect the functioning of the health care system. The court, however, relaxed the condition from bail order by which it had suspended their license. This means now they can start practising. Aabad Ponda, the counsel for the three accused, informed a single bench of Justice Sadhana Jadhav on Thursday that the accused doctors have to complete their final year of post- graduation in gynaecology, for which they need permission to enter the hospital premises.
