Record of COVID-infected man was not updated while shifting ward, giving family anxious moments For a family from Yerawada with a member testing positive for novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19), admission at Sassoon General Hospitals (SGH) for treatment spelled ordeal instead of bringing respite. The day after 57-year-old patient was admitted to SGH, hospital authorities allegedly could not trace the ward where the patient was put up for more than 24 hours, giving the patient’s family serious anxiety. For whole of Sunday, the patient’s kin kept running from pillar to post to locate their family member in the hospital, dialling all possible helpline numbers. It was only on Monday morning that the hospital administration managed to trace him in one of the COVID-19 wards. The iconic three-day Malhar festival of St. Xavier’s College, held around the Independence Day, will not keep its customary appointment this month. College authorities are deliberating over revised dates and the format of the event, which is expected to be a muted affair in the wake of the widespread Covid crisis. “We haven’t decided the new dates.
