The 33-year-old extended his own record with an emphatic 7-5, 6-2, 6-2 victory over Daniil Medvedev at Rod Laver Arena on Sunday (February 21), despite carrying the injury suffered in the third round of the tournament. Djokovic equalled Rafa Nadal’s Open Era record of six Grand Slam title runs after turning 30. The World No. 1 turned 30 in May 2017 and has since won major championship crowns at the Australian Open (2019-’21), Wimbledon (2018-’19) and the US Open (2018). Even the Karnataka High Court’s direction to the BBMP to clear the hoardings has only resulted in the civic body presenting to the courts, a list of the efforts it has made to clean the city’s view.
