Women ad film makers: Is advertising unable to #ShareTheLoad?
advertisements in India. The company positioned the intent as “doing its part to build, fuel and connect a pipeline of diverse female talent in advertising , media and content opportunities as a systemic solution”. This resolve comes from a client whose iconic commercials like Whisper’s #TouchThePickle, Ariel #ShareTheLoad or Vicks #TouchOfCare invariably had male directors at the helm. In a business that traditionally describes the consumer as “she” and where women play a pivotal role in most ad commercials, is there a need for such a ‘systemic solution’? Is there a real dearth of female ad film makers, or artificial scarcity? That too in a scenario where plenty of women occupy senior roles in the creative side of the advertising business. Tista Sen , regional creative director, Wunderman Thompson, South Asia: Sen is first among women to believe there is no shortage. She says, "Is there really a dearth of women ad-film makers, or are we not looking hard ... » Learn More about Women ad film makers: Is advertising unable to #ShareTheLoad?

Bumrah, the leading light of Mumbai Indians
‘Bumrah has taken over the mantle from Malinga’ SCORECARD POINTS TABLE IMAGE: Mumbai Indians' Jasprit Bumrah took figures of 1 for 24 in his 4 overs against Kings XI Punjab on Sunday. Photograph: BCCI Jasprit Bumrah has been a mainstay in Mumbai Indians' bowling attack, and all-rounder Kieron Pollard feels that the Indian pacer has taken over the mantle from Sri Lankan pacer Lasith Malinga. Sri Lankan pacer Malinga, who was a key cog in the bowling wheel of Mumbai Indians, had opted out of the Indian Premier League (IPL) due to personal reasons. Pollard was speaking following MI’s loss against Kings XI Punjab in the 2nd Super Over at Dubai International Stadium on Sunday. However, in the first super over Bumrah had conceded just five runs and Mumbai Indians looked set for a comfortable victory but Mohammad Shami turned the tide and took the game into another super over "He's (Bumrah) a world-class cricketer. The structural fragility of Union Territories
The sudden and inexplicable resignations of Congress MLAs from the Puducherry Assembly have turned out to be an ingenious move to topple the Congress government led by V. Narayanasamy . This was done in 2019 with devastating effect in Karnataka. In both cases, the governments lost majority and went out of office. Resigning from the membership of the House is every member’s right. But according to Article 190 of the Constitution, the resignation should be voluntary or genuine. If the Speaker has information to the contrary, he or she is not obliged to accept the resignation. An innovative method But there is by now a familiar pattern to the resignations of Members of the Legislative Assembly. Such resignations invariably lead to the fall of the government and resignations take place only from the ruling parties in the States which are opposed to the ruling party at the Centre. These parties are, in fact, in a precarious condition because in most cases, the resignations are quite ... » Learn More about The structural fragility of Union Territories
