OTTAWA—Former NDP MP Peter Stoffer is facing allegations of harassment from multiple women, with one former staffer saying “many, many people” witnessed incidents of harassment and failed to act.Lauren Dobson-Hughes, a former New Democrat staffer, described two separate incidents of unwanted groping and kissing from Stoffer to the National Post. Two other women spoke to the newspaper confidentially, detailing inappropriate behaviour or lewd comments.Dobson-Hughes said the first incident was reported to the office of then-NDP leader Jack Layton, but Stoffer was not reprimanded. “Many, many people knew and witnessed harassment by this person. OTTAWA–Saskatchewan New Democrat Erin Weir is facing an investigation after a fellow NDP MP raised concerns about his alleged harassment of other women. In an email to the NDP caucus Tuesday night, Christine Moore alleged that multiple women — including party staff — had told her Weir had harassed them. Moore was responding to an all-caucus email sent by Weir earlier in the evening, asking MPs to support his election as caucus chair. “There are too many women (mostly employees that have) complained to me that you were harassing to them,” Moore wrote in the email, obtained by the Star. “As a woman I would not feel comfortable to meet with you alone.
