AUGUSTA, Ga.: Walking around with stained white trousers and wet feet on Augusta's pristine course made Billy Horschel stand out for all the wrong reasons on Saturday but at least the American saw the funny side after he ended up on his backside at the 13th hole. After his second shot at the par-five 13th ended submerged in the Rae's Creek tributary in front of the green in the third round of the Masters, Horschel decided to remove his shoes and socks in an attempt to hit the ball out of the water. But as he descended the grassy embankment in his white pants, Horschel slipped on the immaculate grass. Luckily the fall bruised his ego more than his body. Smiling sheepishly, Horschel quickly got back on to his feet before asking playing companion Phil Mickelson whether the fall had left a stain. "He said, 'there may not be one there' and he looked and said, 'yeah, there's one there, sorry, buddy'," Horschel said, recounting his conversation with Mickelson. Egypt train driver ‘not at controls’ during deadly crash: Prosecution
CAIRO (AFP) - The driver of a speeding Egyptian train and his assistant had both left the driver's cabin when it crashed into another train last month, the prosecution service alleged on Sunday (April 11). The prosecutor also alleged that the assistant of the other train, which was stationary, and a track signalman were under the influence of the powerful painkiller tramadol, and that the former had also used cannabis. At least 20 people died and 199 were injured in the March 26 crash near Sohag in southern Egypt, according to the authorities' latest count which had already been revised several times. Video images caught on a surveillance camera show the moving train hitting a stationary train at speed, sending one carriage hurtling into the air, in an immense cloud of dust. According to an investigative report cited by the prosecutor on Sunday, the driver and his assistant "were not in the driver's cabin" at the time of the crash, "contrary to their claims". Tourists abandoned in stormy sea after illegal longtail sinks off Krabi
KRABI: A boat captain abandoned four tourists in rough seas, leaving them clinging to rocks, after his overloaded longtail boat capsized near Wang Sai Seafood restaurant, en route to Ao Nang from Railay Friday afternoon. The boat was overloaded with nearly twice the vessel’s maximum capacity of eight people. Canadians, Polish and Spanish men and women were among the passengers on board when the boat capsized and sank after being struck by violent waves, said police. “A passing boat picked up ten of the stranded tourists along with the longtail’s captain, who fled once ashore,” said Ao Nang Police Maj Sontat Wattanawalan. The remaining four passengers managed to hang on to rocks until another tour boat came to their rescue. They all survived the ordeal with scratches from being buffeted by the waves against the rocks. The boatman, Bumroong Panan, 30, later surrendered to police, claiming that he was not at fault. He blamed three passengers for sitting at the bow of the boat, ... » Learn More about Tourists abandoned in stormy sea after illegal longtail sinks off Krabi

SAN FRANCISCO: Collin Morikawa claimed his first major championship on Sunday (Monday in Manila), delivering a magical eagle on the 16th hole in a bogey-free round of 64 at the 2020 Professional Golfers’ Association (PGA) Championship. The 23-year-old American, who turned pro just 14 months ago, did the unthinkable by winning in just his second major career appearance. Morikawa, who is ranked 12th in the world, eventually finished at 13-under 267 at TPC Harding Park in San Francisco. “It’s amazing. It’s been a life goal, obviously as a little kid, kind of watching everyone grow up, all these professionals, and this is always what I’ve wanted to do,” said Morikawa. “I felt very comfortable from the start.” “As an amateur, junior golfer, turning professional last year, but to finally close it off and come out here in San Francisco, pretty much my second home where I spent the last four years, is pretty special,” added Morikawa, who grew up in Los Angeles but went to college at ... » Learn More about Morikawa takes first major at PGA Championship
