HAVANA: Cuban gay rights activists denounced the government's decision to cancel this year's parade against homophobia, accusing it of snatching away their main platform at a key moment as the Caribbean nation is set to debate legalising same-sex marriage. The state-run National Center for Sex Education (CENESEX), which has spearheaded advances in lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) rights in recent years, announced on Monday it would not hold its 12th annual conga.CENESEX, which is headed by Mariela Castro, the daughter of Communist Party leader Raul Castro, said international and regional tensions meant the parade could not be carried out successfully. An OFW asks, 'Should I buy my health insurance now for my retirement in the Philippines 10 years from now?' Question: Hi Miss Rose! I wish to check your thoughts on this po. Any suggestions po? Mag-iipon na lang po ba kami at bibili na lang ng health insurance paguwi namin sa Pinas? Ang downside po kasi e baka may pre-existing conditions na by that time. Looking forward to your inputs po. Thanks and God bless. Answer: Hi Resie. MANILA – Ride-hailing firm Grab Philippines said Monday it has updated its policy to include a P50 fee for cancellations and no-shows to curb “unreasonable" behavior. The beautiful, sun-kissed islands of our tourism paradise of the Philippines have the mixed blessings of abundant natural resources, fertile volcanic soil and also lots of natural disasters once in a while, such as earthquakes, volcanoes erupting, typhoons, and others. How can businesses — most especially the numerous micro, small and medium-scale enterprises (SMEs) — be prepared for any natural or manmade disasters? Here are suggestions for all of us: Review and be sure to update your … [Read more...] about How can small businesses & professionals prepare for disasters?
