Terming an application filed by the association of private hospitals ‘disturbing’, Justice J B Pardiwala of Gujarat high court urged the private hospitals, “With folded hands I request you to cooperate with the government and common man should not feel that due to my financial condition I could not get treatment at private hospital. Please help the state, please help the people. God is watching.” The judge also made it clear that action shall be taken against private hospitals that do not adhere to the directions of the government. “We are happy to note that private hospitals are treating Covid patients and we appreciate it. The HBT Medical College and Dr RN Cooper Municipal General Hospital have decided to rope in third-year and final-year MBBS students to help medical professionals working to combat the novel coronavirus. Currently, medical interns have been assisting doctors and other personnel. The hospital issued a circular to over 300 students on Thursday. The students will be provided with hostel accommodation, but they have to arrange for their own transportation. A student expressed their enthusiasm to aid the fight against Covid-19. "Only those who can travel easily will be posted," the student told Mirror. "We will mostly be working under the interns. They will not put us at risk. I am sure they will provide us with protective equipment. We never thought that we would be called on Covid duty, but it is nice that we are getting a chance to help.
