Spider-Man: Far From Home Cast: Tom Holland, Jake Gyllenhaal, Zendaya Director: Jon Watts Quite literal to its name, Spider-Man: Far From Home is set in some major European cities like Venice, Prague and London, and while taking us on a thrilling ride, it also makes us acquainted with child-man Peter ‘Tingling’ Parker (Tom Holland) and man-child Quentin ‘Mysterio’ Beck (Jake Gyllenhaal). While they come to their own and do some grown-up acts, we could be sure that our spider-boy has come a long way, and has our back the way his mentor Tony Stark would have wanted, of course minus the swag. Nick Fury (Samuel Jackson) can’t take Captain Marvel jokes and Maria Hill (Cobie Smulders) is as outspoken and highbrow as ever, but guess who overshadows them with his perfect timing? Jon Favreau’s Happy Hogan, who gives cue to music pieces and puts on the display his subtle understanding of the universe. He is much more than just a comic relief in a film … [Read more...] about Spider-Man Far From Home Movie Review: Tom Holland Gets In the Way of Avengers-level Threat

War for the Planet of the ApesDirector - Matt ReevesCast - Andy Serkis, Woody Harrelson, Steve Zahn, Amiah MillerRating - 4.5/5Fifteen years ago, a virus called the Simian Flu all but wiped out humanity. It was because we interfered in matters we did not understand, and our arrogant belief that we could alter nature and escape unpunished. But the virus had a side-effect. It made Simians – apes, chimps, monkeys of all sorts – evolve quicker than they were meant to. Soon, like most oppressed beings suddenly empowered, they fought back. They were led in that first battle by an ape named Caesar, who had seen the compassion mankind was capable of, but also the cruelty. It’s been fifteen years since the fight on the Golden Gate Bridge, a fight the apes won, but after which they were forced to leave the dangerous cities. Caesar, battle-worn and scarred, has taken his apes, and his family, into the woods, where they lay in hiding, one eye always … [Read more...] about War for the Planet of the Apes movie review: A roaring success of Biblical proportions

Actor Sidharth Malhotra says he looks at failures as a learning experience and doesn't get bogged down by it. "I look at it from a learning point of view. Even massive superstars of the country can't predict the future of their films," Sidharth said while talking about his mantra for dealing with successes and failures. "It's a part and parcel of the business. I have a lot of gratitude that I am a working actor. You can't let your previous Friday affect your coming Friday," he added. Sidharth made a successful Bollywood debut with "Student Of The Year" in 2012 and managed to garner a fan base with his good looks in the initial years of career. The past couple of years, however, have been rough for Sidharth. The audience wasn't impressed with his films such as "Baar Baar Dekho", "A Gentleman" and "Aiyaari", which turned out to be duds at the box office. His latest release is the Milap Zaveri-directed "Marjaavaan", which also features Tara Sutaria, Riteish Deshmukh and Rakul Preet … [Read more...] about Can’t Let Previous Fridays Affect Upcoming Friday, Says Sidharth Malhotra
In the year of Our Lord, 2019, the general expectations from a Hollywood reboot are rather low. After almost half a decade of getting carpet-bombed with new dino parks, ghost-killing teams, evil board games, jewel heists and alien-hunters with a penchant for black, merely a handful have managed to stick to the wall. Now with the bar so exceptionally low that one could see it kiss the ground, yet another reboot has coming knocking at a theatre near you, eager to try its luck. With Charlie’s Angels, actor-director Elizabeth Banks has brought back the campy, glossy 2000 franchise having shed a lot of the camp and gloss from it. The new version, starring three new women in spandex and Kevlar, is packed with more action and less male gaze. And it delights me to tell you this: It’s not unwatchable. But it also pains me to tell you: That’s just about it.Watch Charlie’s Angels’ trailer:As previously explained, my expectations were … [Read more...] about Charlie’s Angels movie review: Kristen Stewart returns to mainstream in style with an average reboot
