Following a surprising run to the finals of the recent UAAP men’s basketball tournament, the University of the Philippines (UP) Fighting Maroons got a major boost with the construction of a spanking new training facility in their Diliman campus. The Epsilon Chi Fitness Center, which opened its doors to the UP community on October 2, now serves as the training facility of the Maroons. The gym houses a covered basketball court, which could also host other sports such as badminton, table tennis and volleyball. Prior to the establishment of the 1,457 square-meter fitness center, the UP men’s basketball team used to train either at UP Gym Annex or at Celebrity Sports Club. Asst. Prof. Francis Carlos Diaz, chairman of the UP Department of Physical Education and former UP athletics director, said that it was UP Epsilon Chi Fraternity that pushed for the construction of the center. Live Nation rules music ticketing — some say with threats
By BEN SISARIO New York Times GRAHAM BOWLEY Mon., April 2, 2018 In 2010, when the U.S. Justice Department allowed the two most dominant companies in the live music business — Live Nation and Ticketmaster — to merge, many greeted the news with dread. Its terms were strict, they said: It would boost competition and block monopolistic behaviour by the new, larger Live Nation. “There will be enough air and sunlight in this space for strong competitors to take root, grow and thrive,” said the country’s top antitrust regulator, … [Read more...] about Live Nation rules music ticketing — some say with threats

"You're talking about Zlatan Ibrahimovic," Schmid said in comments posted on the team's website. "You're not talking about a normal, mortal human. I'm sure he'll tell you the same. "He's a competitor. He loves to compete and he loves challenges. If you ask me is he 90 minutes fit for Saturday, no. But will he play a role in the game? Quite possibly."
