NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday met his Mauritian counterpart Pravind Jugnauth, who recently won a hard-fought election, and assured India's support to the aspirations of building a more secure, stable and prosperous Mauritius. Jugnauth, along with his wife Kobita Ramdanee, had paid obeisance at the ancient Mata Bagulmukhi temple in Dharamshala on Wednesday, after winning the polls in his country last month. The Mauritian prime minister visited Dharamshala nearly a month after his party, the Militant Socialist Movement (MSM), won a majority of seats in Parliament. Prime Minister Modi extended his warm felicitations to Prime Minister Jugnauth on his re-election with a resounding mandate, a ministry of external affairs statement said. MUMBAI: Former Maharashtra Chief Minister and BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis on Saturday said that NCP leader Ajit Pawar had told him that he had the full support of NCP chief and uncle Sharad Pawar to form the government in Maharashtra, which is why they staked the claim to form the government in the state. This, at a time when more than 70 per cent of women in the country don't have access to proper sanitary products. Joining the countrywide protests in a creative way, Rajkamal Aich, a Delhi-based art consultant, initiated the Period Art Project last month. His artwork demonstrates blood-soaked sanitary pads and tampons questioning the government on exempting tax on sindoor, bindis and bangles. “This was my artwork project as part of the World Menstrual Hygiene Day, which was later shared by a lady based in the US on Instagram.
