Officials said the project will put a brake to the frequent flooding of low-lying areas and encroachments. Tenders for these works, which are divided into close to 19 packages, were invited in October last year. After receiving an approval from the government, the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has started issuing work orders to the contractors.
