L&T, India’s largest infrastructure company, has pared its forecast of growth in revenue and order inflows for the current fiscal. But, many analysts opine that the revised figures are still far away from the reality as doubts are more pronounced in the projection of order inflows. The company has trimmed its revenue growth forecast to 10-15% from 15% earlier and order inflows growth to 5-7% from 15% while operating margin guidance has remained unchanged. Analysts keenly track order inflows growth as it determines the future revenue growth. Typically, an order is executed in 3-4 years and, therefore, increasing order inflows improve future revenue visibility. In the first half, order inflows growth has fallen 25% year-on-year. This means, to achieve a lower band of the estimated order inflows, it has to grow 35% in the second half.
