New Delhi, Dec 9 () The CBI has registered 14 cases of economic offences against 18 serving and former lawmakers, Minister of State for Finance Anurag Singh Thakur informed the Lok Sabha on Monday. "Out of these 18 persons, 2 are sitting Members of Parliament; 9 Ex Members of Parliament; 5 Members of Legislative Assemblies and 2 Ex Members of Legislative Assemblies," he said in a written reply. Directorate of Enforcement (ED) has registered 82 cases against the public representatives including former public representatives across the country, under Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002 and Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA), 1999, he said. The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) has registered three cases of economic offences across the country against public representatives, he said. Delhi court reserves verdict for Dec 16 in Unnao rape case against Kuldeep Sengar
NEW DELHI: A Delhi court on Tuesday reserved verdict for next week in the case of alleged kidnapping and rape of a woman by expelled BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar in UP's Unnao in 2017. District Judge Dharmesh Sharma said he would pronounce his judgement in the case on December 16. CBI had concluded its arguments in the case on Monday and recording of statements of defence witnesses was completed in in-camera proceedings on December 2. The woman was allegedly kidnapped and raped by Sengar in 2017 when she was a minor. The court has also framed charges against co-accused Shashi Singh in the case. In July, the car of the woman who had accused Sengar was hit by a truck and she was severely injured. In particular, ChemChina international mergers and acquisitions faced numerous difficulties such as local worries and concerns. Has China overcome these concerns by paying special attention to local and international stakeholders? For example, while Pirelli acquisition represented one of the biggest deals in Europe and the largest in Italy, many voices were raised claiming the dangers of handing over national assets to Chinese owners. Hafiz Saeed to visit terror launch pads in PoK on Mumbai attack anniversary
NEW DELHI: Mumbai attack mastermind and Jamaat-ud-Dawa (JuD) chief Hafiz Saeed cut a cake and distributed sweets as he walked from house arrest in Lahore as a free man. Moments after the release he said he will gather people across Pakistan for the "cause of Kashmir" and help the Kashmiris secure "freedom". The JuD head, who carries a bounty of USD 10 million announced by the US for his role in terror activities, on the instructions of Pakistan's intelligence agency ISI, will visit terror launch pads in Pakistan occupied Kashmir (POK) on Novembe26, the anniversary of the deadly Mumbai attack. He was set free after the Pakistan government decided against detaining him further in any case. He has been under detention since January this year.
