Only in the first week of June, actor turned producer Sivakarthikeyan announced at the audio launch of 'Nenjamundu Nermaiyundu Odu Raja' that his next production would be directed by Arun Prabhu of 'Aruvi' fame. Titled as Vaazhl, the film is being co-produced by Kalai Arasu and the director who started the film in January 2019, has shot it in more than 100 locations in 75 days. The film is said to be a travelogue musical drama for which Pradeep Kumar is composing the music while Shelly Calist and Raymond Derrick Crasta take care of visuals and editing respectively. The is said to have new faces playing the lead roles. Actress-politician Thara is currently on a 11-day shoot in the hill town of Sakleshpur, and the actress can’t help but get nostalgic about her stay. “The last time I came here was for the shooting of Sipaayi, over 23 years ago. Ravi sir (Ravichandran) and I shot for the iconic Rukkamma song here. We were here for over 10 days to shoot that song, with more than 100 dancers. I have fond memories of shooting in Byakravalli and Donigal for that film,” says Thara. She feels it’s a divine twist of fate that two decades later, she has returned to the same town to shoot with her co-star’s son, Manuranjan Ravichandran, for the upcoming Mugilpete. “I play Manu’s mother in the movie, and I am the bridge between his father and him. KOLKATA: The impact of the agitation against the amended Citizenship Act in West Bengal has hit the common man here as prices of essential commodities, mainly perishables, have shot up. Potatoes, onions and green chillies are getting costlier in city markets than what their prices were before the protests began. Radha Sikdar, a buyer at Paikpara market said, "If the protests continue, prices will continue to increase which will pinch our pockets. The government should come up with some measures to help us." Many transporters are apprehensive to ply trucks after buses were torched in several parts of the state during the protests. This has led to a reduction in the availability of vehicles for transporting agri-commodities.
