Seoul discusses climate change at UN COP25

Korea is promoting the exchange of climate change technologies and closer cooperation with other countries at the 25th Conference of the Parties (COP25) currently under way in Madrid, the Science Ministry said Sunday.The latest United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change gathering is focused on defining permissible emissions trading between countries, with Seoul engaging in talks with Bangladesh, Cambodia and Sri Lanka, the Ministry of Science and ICT said.These meetings will make it possible to check joint climate change mitigation programs that are in progress and examine ways to speed up cooperation. Jammu-Srinagar National Highway Closed for Repair Work

Jammu: The 270-km-long Jammu-Srinagar national highway was closed for traffic on Sunday to facilitate "necessary repair work", while one-way traffic resumed on 434-km Srinagar-Leh highway and Mughal road after remaining closed for several weeks due to heavy snowfall, officials said. Inspector General of Police, traffic, Alok Kumar said vehicular movement on the Jammu-Srinagar national highway, the only all-weather road linking Kashmir with the rest of the country, was suspended for the day to allow road maintenance agencies to carry out "necessary repair work". While convoys of security personnel were allowed to ply on the highway from both sides-- Srinagar and Jammu, civilian traffic was restricted. The step was taken to ensure that the highway which was damaged by recent landslides in Ramban sector can be repaired and to facilitate the passage of security convoys. The private sector commercial bank has established the facility with Ekam Eco Solutions at Agnitheertham seashore near the town bus stop, frequented by pilgrims and tourists who enjoy water sports at the nearby Olaikuda beach. Finding that the beach received good number of footfalls every day and there were no clean washrooms in the vicinity, the DCB bank has established the eco-friendly facility with sustainable circular sanitation model. Citizenship bill passage to reduce India to Hindutva version of Pak: Tharoor
