Anantapur-based Sri Krishnadevaraya University (SKU) Vice-Chancellor M. Jayaraj, 59, died following a massive heart attack in the early hours of Monday. A professor of economics, he is survived by wife and son.After a felicitation function in Anantapur on Sunday afternoon, he boarded a private travels bus for Vijayawada in the night and when the bus was near Dhone, he felt pain around 1 a.m. and raised an alarm. A doctor among the passengers came to his rescue and he was taken to Dhone Government Hospital, but was declared dead. With a history of heart problem, he had undergone procedure for inserting a stent.Known for his cordial relations for fellow teachers and administrative capabilities, he was appointed Vice-Chancellor (FAC) in October 2019 by the present government. India-Pakistan tensions may not impact insurance covers, say experts
All covers have a war exclusion clause. For cargo, shipping, and aviation industries, war schemes are available. Insurance covers are taken for a relatively long period of time. But sudden events of conflict between two nations are unlikely to influence any change in rates charged by insurers for any cover taken by companies in the conflict region, said industry experts. By Justin Sink and Jenny Leonard President Donald Trump opened another potential front in his trade war on Friday, terminating India’s designation as a developing nation and thereby eliminating an exception that allowed the country to export nearly 2,000 products to the U.S. duty-free. “I have determined that India has not assured the United States that India will provide equitable and reasonable access to its markets,” Trump said in a proclamation. “Accordingly, it is appropriate to terminate India’s designation as a beneficiary developing country effective June 5, 2019.” The action, which the administration has foreshadowed for months, ends India’s preferential treatment under the Generalized System of Preferences, a decades-old program designed to promote economic development around the world.
