Delhi Fir: A fire broke out in a light bulb manufacturing factory at Udyog Nagar in Peera Garhi area early on Tuesday morning. As per initial reports, 15 fire tenders are currently present at the spot as the efforts to douse the flames continue. Cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained. As of now, no injuries or casualties into the incident have been reported. The fire broke out at 5.15 a.m. at the factory located in West Delhi's Peeragarhi area. The blaze that started out on the ground floor, quickly spread to the first and second floors. Gujarat government brings parts of Anand town under Disturbed Areas Act
AHMEDABAD: The Gujarat government on Friday brought some parts of Anand town under the Disturbed Areas Act to prevent distress sale of properties in communally-sensitive areas. Chief Minister Vijay Rupani gave his assent to implement the provisions of the Act in different parts of Anand town in central Gujarat after going through a proposal sent by the district collector of Anand, a government release said on Friday. Some of the main areas in the town that have been declared as 'disturbed' include Moti Khodiyar, Lambhvel Road, area opposite the railway station, Gujarati chowk, Mayfair Road, 100-feet road, area near new bus stand, Mahavir Park, Jain Society, Anand-Vidyanagar Road, Avkuda Road, near Town Hall, 80-feet road, D Z High School and area near H M Patel statue. 43 die in major fire at Delhi’s Anaj Mandi area
At least 43 people died and around 16 injured after a major fire broke out in Anaj Mandi area of Central Delhi on Sunday morning.The building did not have a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Fire Department, said Atul Garg, Director, Delhi Fire Services.A call about the fire was received at 5.22 a.m. following which more than 30 fire tenders were rushed to the spot. During the rescue operation, over 53 people trapped in the building were shifted to hospital where at least 43 succumbed to injuries during treatment. Doctors say the death toll might rise.Mr. Garg said that it was four-storey building. It seems that the fire started from the second floor and soon reaches to all the other floors. The commemorative event, co-hosted by the Sino-American Aviation Heritage Foundation, paid tribute to members of the First American Volunteer Group, better known as the Flying Tigers, especially for their first victorious battle in China on Dec. 20, 1941, when they shot down six of 10 Japanese bombers over Kunming, Yunnan Province in southwest China without losing any of their own. The Flying Tigers' first triumph in China came 13 days after Japan's surprise attack on Pearl Harbor in Hawaii, which was also commemorated at Saturday's event.
