India expects China to work with it to ensure complete disengagement “at the earliest” along the Line of Actual Control (LAC), which was key to restoring the relationship, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said on Friday. A double murder of a senior citizen couple at a bungalow near Hebatpur in Sola on Friday morning after looting them has raised serious questions about the safety of senior citizens in the city. Four assailants, two of whom had come on a two-wheeler and two on foot, were seen fleeing the spot by the security guard who alerted the neighbour. Minutes before the gruesome murder where the assailants slit the neck of Ashok Patel (68) and his wife Jyotsna (68), living in Bungalow number 2, Shanti Palace on Hebatpur Road, with a sharp-edged weapon they were seen actively going through their daily routine. At 8.05 am, neighbours had seen Patel cleaning up his two wheeler, whereas Jyotsna had spoken to the neighbour. The assailants fled with ornaments and mobile phones worth Rs 2,45,000, as per the complaint filed by Sanjay Patel, son-in-law of the couple.
