Kirkland & Ellis, a law firm hired by Nikola to conduct a review in connection to allegations of fraud by short-seller Hindenburg, was also assessing if the inaccurate statements violated any statute, the filing said. India, Pakistan review LoC situation, agree to maintain hotline contact, border flag meetings during DGMO-level talks
NEW DELHI: The Director Generals of Military Operations (DGMO) of India and Pakistan held discussions over the established mechanism of hotline contact. According to a joint release, the two sides reviewed the situation along the Line of Control (LoC) and all other sectors in a free, frank and cordial atmosphere. “In the interest of achieving mutually beneficial and sustainable peace along the borders, the two DGsMO agreed to address each other’s core issues and concerns which have the propensity to disturb the peace and lead to violence,’’ the joint press statement said. BEIJING - Luo Jiamang, former general accountant of China's biggest food trader COFCO, has been indicted on charges of accepting bribes, the Supreme People's Procuratorate (SPP) said on Friday. Luo's case has been investigated by the National Supervisory Commission. Upon the designation of the SPP, a procuratorate in the city of Handan, Hebei Province, reviewed the case and filed it in the city's Intermediate People's Court, said the SPP in a statement. BEIJING - Deng Huilin, former deputy mayor of Southwest China's Chongqing municipality, has been indicted on a charge of taking bribes, the Supreme People's Procuratorate (SPP) said Friday. Deng was accused of taking advantage of his various former positions to seek profits for others and accepting vast sums of money and gifts in return, the SPP said in a statement. Deng's case was handed over to the People's Procuratorate of Baoding in North China's Hebei province for review and prosecution upon the designation of the SPP after the National Supervisory Commission concluded the investigation, it said. The findings were shared in a research paper published by an independent think tank named Tabadlab, titled "Bearing the cost of global politics, the impact of FATF grey-listing on Pakistan’s economy".
