He and his wife both tested positive and he had to be hospitalised due to his symptoms. Here's his COVID experience We were cautious about COVID while we were in Bengaluru from the last 6 months, strictly following all precautions to save ourselves. I got fever and body pain on Monday, 5th October (Sunday). I started self quarantine from Monday evening and started taking Dolo 650 for fever. On 6th October, I consulted a doctor online in Practo; they suggested medication and asked me to go for COVID test after 2 - 3 days. Disengagement, de-escalation key for progress in ties, India tells China
India expects China to work with it to ensure complete disengagement “at the earliest” along the Line of Actual Control (LAC), which was key to restoring the relationship, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said on Friday. The foreign ministers of both countries, S. Jaishankar and Wang Yi, in a phone call on February 25 reviewed the status of disengagement , which has been completed on the north and south banks of Pangong lake and is in progress in other areas along the LAC. Satellites capture formation of enormous iceberg A74 on Antarctica’s Brunt Ice Shelf
Email Digital Story Innovation Team By Mark Doman Updated March 05, 2021 09:30:45 Map: Antarctica Since the early 70s, satellites have surveyed the ebb and flow of vast ice masses at the edge of Antarctica. The data being collected from space has allowed scientists to monitor huge areas of the icy continent, even through the darkness and hostility of an Antarctic winter. One of the more spectacular sights captured by the satellites is the calving of city-sized icebergs from ice shelves — the giant glaciers transporting ice from the middle of the continent out to sea. Just last week, a huge 1,200-square-kilometre iceberg broke away from the Brunt Ice Shelf near the Weddell Sea. It's the first large iceberg to break off from this shelf in 50 years. "A lot of these big ice shelves, we'll normally get, like, one iceberg produced from the shelf during our careers," said Dr Sue Cook, a glaciologist with the Australian Antarctic Program Partnership. Wallowing in stardom or a minefield?
A growing number of youngsters aspire to be social media influencers for fame and fortune. But experts warn about a narcissitic trend that can be devastating for youths. Wang Yuke reports from Hong Kong. If Hong Kong's big-time fortune tellers can strike gold by amassing a huge following over time, there's a group of young go-getters trying to take a leaf out of their book — social media influencers. But the luck and instinct that may guarantee one's success in any field of endeavor simply don't fall from the sky. It could be a make-it-or-break-it move. Kenson, 10, is nothing short of a toy influencer in Hong Kong despite his tender age. "I often come across strangers recognizing me on the street. They would leap at me, excitedly shout out my name and ask for selfies," says Kenson shyly. "I was happy about it but it, somehow, set me on edge." While many young YouTubers wallow in stardom and the glee of being lionized, being a household name is not on Kenson's priority list. ... » Learn More about Wallowing in stardom or a minefield?
Binge watch away your COVID blues
After yet another cinema hiatus, going to a theater to catch a film is once again a possibility in Hong Kong. Given theaters are still off-limits in many places around the world, the pickings are slim. Then a small menu could be a good way to ease back into things. After shooting out of the gate in late-February with lingering blockbusters, this week screens are splashed with (among others) a minor gem which would otherwise have been overwhelmed by Soul or Wonder Woman 1984 , and a New Year rom-com that's either eight or three weeks late, depending on which calendar you follow. In Run , we meet Diane (Sarah Paulson) in the midst of a difficult premature labor - shot in hard, suitably harrowing, green light - that very nearly ends in death. Flash forward 17 years and Chloe (Kiera Allen) endures a battery of drugs and physiotherapy to manage her heart, respiratory and mobility issues, but other than reliance on a wheelchair, Chloe is a bright, balanced, college-bound teenager. ... » Learn More about Binge watch away your COVID blues

(This story was first published in the Times of India on March 5, 2021) Mumbai: Days ahead of the state budget, deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar hinted at some relief in prices of petrol and diesel which have skyrocketed. Pawar said the Centre collects Rs 35.9 per litre of petrol and of this Rs 32.9 is collected as cess , whereas the state government collects Rs 28.9 as a value-added tax. Sources in transport associations say they are hoping the government will reduce taxes and VAT in the state budget. ‘The Girl on the Train’ movie review: A supposed suspense-thriller with a lacklustre attitude
There is something really off about The Girl on the Train , based on British author Paula Hawkins’ novel of the same name and its subsequent film adaptation starring Emily Blunt, right from the start — if you discount the miscast lead actors that is. Look at the way the opening sequence begins inside the forest with a character chasing another. Look at the way the editor cuts back to show the wound on Parineeti Chopra’s forehead — this, after the opening scene clearly establishes a physical clash between them. Look at the way the film panders to the NRI audience with the only Indian sensibility being the quintessential wedding song + heartbreak song + my life-is-miserable song + new day, new world song. Look at the way Mira Kapoor’s (Parineeti Chopra) story is rushed through with the least bit of character development. She is a lawyer. She meets Shekhar (Avinash Tiwary) at a wedding, of course. They fall in love over a wedding song, of course. She takes up a high profile case. ... » Learn More about ‘The Girl on the Train’ movie review: A supposed suspense-thriller with a lacklustre attitude
