By Pam Douglas Brampton Guardian Mon., Feb. 11, 2019 The president of the Peel Regional Police Association, which acts as the union for Peel’s police officers, has been charged with stunt driving and drinking and driving. Const. Adrian Woolley, 44, of Burlington, was charged Saturday after he was pulled over by the OPP on the QEW in Burlington, said OPP Sgt. Kerry Schmidt. Schmidt did not reveal how fast Woolley is accused of driving. As for the drinking and driving charge, he is accused of having more than 80 mg of alcohol in 100 mL of blood, which is more than the legal limit. A stunt-driving charge carries an automatic driver’s licence suspension and the driver’s vehicle is impounded for seven days. It is laid when a driver is clocked at more than 50 km/h over the speed limit. Woolley has been a Peel police officer for almost 20 years. By The Canadian Press Mon., Aug. 20, 2018 Police say a man has been charged after he allegedly drove his high-end sports car at 148 kilometres per hour in a school zone. York Regional Police say the incident occurred on Sunday at about 8 p.m. in Vaughan, Ont. Police say a patrol officer spotted a 2019 Aston Martin travelling at 148 kilometres per hour in a 40 kilometre per hour school zone. They say the 31-year-old Vaughan, Ont., man has been charged with stunt driving, dangerous driving and speeding. Police say the car will be impounded for a week. RIYADH (AFP) - Saudi women will be allowed to start driving in the kingdom from June 24, the General Department of Traffic Director General Mohammed al-Bassami said on Tuesday (May 8). "All the requirements for women in the kingdom to start driving have been established," Mr Bassami was quoted as saying in a statement released by the government. In September 2017, a royal decree announced the end of a decades-long ban on women driving - the only one of its kind in the world. Women aged 18 years and older will be allowed to apply for a driver's licence, Mr Bassami said. Driving schools for women have been set up across five cities in the conservative kingdom, and teachers will include Saudi women who obtained their licences abroad. Women with foreign driving licences will be able to apply for a local one through a separate process, which will also assess their driving skills.
