LEEDS: Englishman Ian Gould will bring down curtains on his umpiring career after officiating for the last time during India's clash with Sri Lanka at the ongoing World Cup at Headingley here, the ICC said. Gould finishes his career having umpired in 74 Tests, while the India vs Sri Lanka match here is his 140th ODI. Gould, who has now officiated in his fourth ICC Men's World Cup, was one of the umpires at the 2011 World Cup semi-final between India and Pakistan in Mohali. An accomplished wicket-keeper, Gould called time on his playing career in the 1990s and then took up a coaching role with Middlesex. As a player, he kept wickets for England at the 1983 World Cup, playing 18 ODIs in total. He has played more than 600 combined first class and List A games. Colombo: Sri Lanka's cricket board on Thursday announced a major revamp of the national team after its poor showing at the recent World Cup, confirming South African Mickey Arthur's appointment as head coach. Sri Lanka Cricket's secretary Mohan de Silva said the country had been without a proper coach since the early World Cup exit. "We are very pleased to have Mickey and hope his experience in Asia will help build our team to a very high standard," de Silva told reporters in Colombo a day after hiring the 51-year-old. Video PlayerClose COLOMBO, Dec. 5 (Xinhua) -- Sri Lanka's apparel industry is planning to set up a fabric processing park in Eravur, Batticaloa in the east of the island, to draw investors from countries like China in a bid to cut lead times and reduce input costs, local media quoted a leading official as saying on Thursday. Sri Lanka's Joint Apparel Association (JAAF) was working with the Board of Investment on setting up the industrial zone, Chairman of Sri Lanka Apparel Exporters Association Rehan Lakhany told the local EconomyNext. "We are talking to the relevant authorities to allocate a land of about 200 acres in Eravur that we have identified suitable to set up this zone," Lakhany said. "Foreign textile manufacturers will be invited to set up factories within the zone," he added. Chinese apparel makers, who are looking to re-locate would be one of the target groups.
