Three kingdoms appoint administrator

IAS officer Sitaram Kunte has been appointed as the chief secretary of Maharashtra , while his batchmate Praveen Pardeshi has been superseded. The orders will be issued on Saturday evening and the file has been signed by Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray . Kunte belongs to the 1985 batch of the IAS and was also the municipal commissioner of Mumbai . At present, he is working as the additional chief secretary (home). Kunte was sidelined in the BJP government. When the MVA government came to power, Ajoy Mehta was the chief secretary. Sources in bureaucracy said that he could not see eye to eye with the then-municipal commissioner Praveen Pardeshi who was transferred abruptly. Sharad Pawar was not so keen on Kunte’s candidature.
