WhatsApp hoax triggers lynching of two others in Maharashtra's Aurangabad. Two Muslim men were allegedly lynched by a group of enraged villagers on suspicion of cattle theft in Jharkhand's Godda district, the police said on Wednesday. Deputy Inspector General (Santal Paragana) Akhilesh Kumar Jha said five people had allegedly stolen buffaloes from the house of Munshi Murmu and others in tribal-dominated Dullu village last night. Finding the buffaloes missing, Murmu and other villagers gave a chase to the five people, who were caught in adjoining Bankati village with the cattle in the early hours on Wednesday. The enraged villagers thrashed Sirabuddin Ansari, 35, and Murtaza Ansari, 30, to death. The three others managed to flee, Jha said. Four persons, including Murmu, have been arrested in this connection so far. Islamabad: A special sub-committee was meeting on Tuesday before the Pakistan Cabinet's decision on former prime minister Nawaz Sharif's travel abroad for medical treatment. India’s longest-serving woman prisoner, Nalini Sriharan, 52, came out on parole for 30 days from Vellore Central Prison on Thursday morning. This is the first time that Nalini has come out of prison on an ordinary parole since her arrest in June 1991, 28 years ago. Brief emergency paroles granted to her in the past have lasted only a few hours — once for her brother’s wedding, and on another occasion after her father’s death in 2016. Nalini was granted parole after her petition, in which she said she had to make arrangements for the wedding of her daughter, was accepted by the Madras High Court. SHAHJAHANPUR: An Uttar Pradesh court has rejected the bail application of BJP leader Swami Chinmayanand, who was arrested in a sexual-assault case following rape allegations by a law student. Shahjahanpur chief judicial magistrate has rejected the bail application of Chinmayanand on Monday, saying it should be moved in the sessions court, the former Union minister's counsel, Om Singh, said on Tuesday. The court has also rejected on the same grounds the bail application of three men - Sanjay, Sachin and Vikram - who were arrested on extortion charges filed by the BJP leader. A special investigation team (SIT) on Tuesday took Sachin and Vikram on remand for 95 hours for taking them to the site for recovery of a mobile phone allegedly used in making the extortion demand, sources in the probe team said.
