The first episode of a new Kannada TV serial, titled Jothe Jotheyali, will be telecast tonight at 7.30 pm on Zee TV Kannada. The series is about a 26-year-old man, Abhay, who wants to marry a 31-year-old woman, Shalini. The teaser shows that it has been inspired by famous real-life serial couples such as Sachin Tendulkar and Anjali Tendulkar, Abhishekh Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, and Vishuvaradhan and Bharathi Vishnuvardhan. In all of these couples, the wife is older than the husband. Jothe Jotheyali will be telecast from Monday to Saturday. The title is the same as Prem’s blockbuster movie that was released in 2006. Mahesh Babu, Tamannaah starrer Aagadu is expected to be aired on Gemini TV on the eve of Sankranthi. Directed by Sreenu Vaitla, the film had Mahesh Babu playing the role of a cop, who goes to Ukkupatnam to put an end to the atrocities of a local don, played by Sonu Sood. Shruti Haasan had made a special appearance in the film where she shook her leg with Mahesh Babu in this action entertainer. Bellamkonda Sai Sreenivas' debut in Tollywood might not have made a big splash, but he surely has made a lot of heads turn on TV. The actor's debut film, Alludu Seenu, which was aired for the first time on Gemini TV on December 28 has registered TRP of 16.9. Surprisingly, it's higher than most other blockbuster films like Yevadu, Legend, Race Gurram and Manam which were all aired on TV last year. Actor Ruslaan Mumtaz, who was last seen on 'Balika Vadhu', is returning to TV after three years. He will join the cast of 'Main Maayke Chali Jaungi Tum Dekhte Rahiyo', which features Namish Taneja and Srishti Jain as the lead couple. Ruslaan will play an NRI business tycoon, who comes to India to find a bride for himself. His entry will crowd Namish and Srishti’s equation, as he will fall in love with her at first sight. Naanu Nanna Kanasu, starring Chetan Chandra, is touted as one of Kannada television’s most extravagant shows. “It is a story about a rich industrialist. So, his bungalow had to embody that richness and grandeur. The set has been put up at film city in Hyderabad and was designed by Mumbai art director Chokas Bhardwaz. Opulent rooms, staircases and furniture have been incorporated in the bungalow that has been built exclusively for the show. At least `1 crore had been earmarked for this set,” says a source from the TV show. “The set has a significant contribution to the success of the show,” the source elaborates. “It is for the first time on our channel that a set has been constructed for a fiction show and all efforts have been made to make it a unique one.
