(Reuters Health) - People who eat lots of ultra-processed foods are more likely to develop heart disease and to die sooner than those who stick with foods in their original form, two large studies conclude.Heavily processed foods are often high in sugar, fat and empty calories. Consuming lots of these foods has long been linked to an increased risk of a wide variety of health problems that can lead to heart disease or an early grave, such as obesity, high blood pressure, elevated cholesterol, cancer and depression. Now, two studies published in The BMJ offer fresh evidence of the health risks of ultra-processed foods. One study linked eating more than four daily servings of ultra-processed foods to a 62per cent higher risk of premature death compared to eating little or none of these foods. Habits that limit success What is a habit? Apart from being referred to as a piece of garment, I hear people say, “The reason why this person could not achieve success is that he or she has bad habits that debilitate him or her from achieving success.” And before we jump into the picture and contribute our share of opinions as to what the habits are, we first need to know what the word habit means. I can only assume that he was using the social media platform outside his “zero technology zones”: The hours between 4.45am and 8am and after 6pm, during which all phones must be abandoned. To … [Read more...] about Does waking up before sunrise make you a more successful individual?
MANILA, Philippines – San Miguel Beer has already made history in the PBA with its dominance of the All-Filipino Conference in the past half-decade. The Beermen – bannered by their tried-and-tested core of June Mar Fajardo, Arwind Santos, Chris Ross, Marcio Lassiter and Alex Cabagnot – have won ruled the Philippine Cup for the past four seasons. It is an unprecedented achievement, one that has seen them rewrite the league's record books. During this remarkable run, under the guidance of coach Leo Austria, the Beermen have also triumphed in the Commissioner's Cup and the Governor's Cup. But it is during the All-Filipino that they truly leave their mark – and the team is not yet done. San Miguel is now seeking to extend its rule of the Philippine Cup for a fifth straight year, as they are set to face the Magnolia Hotshots in the 2019 All-Filipino finals. It is a rematch of last season's championship series, won by the Beermen in five games. READ: Romeo excited … [Read more...] about News PBA: SMB puts ‘winning habit’ at stake against Magnolia
