PARIS: The Miami Grand Prix will join the Formula One calendar from the 2022 season, organizers said on Sunday (Monday in Manila), in a 10-year deal that adds a second American race to the championship after the United States GP in Austin. In a statement F1 said that the race will take place at a new track round the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens north of the Florida city. “We are thrilled to announce that Formula 1 will be racing in Miami beginning in 2022,” said F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali. “The US is a key growth market for us, and we are greatly encouraged by our growing reach in the US which will be further supported by this exciting second race.” He added it would be staged “in the second quarter of next year”. I went into Netflix’s new series “Shadow and Bone” cold. I have not read any of the novels in the seven-book young adult fantasy Grishaverse series by author Leigh Bardugo. I am not familiar with the main story nor any of the characters. All I know is that young adult books have the coolest covers and Bardugo’s are among the best. The Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth) has yet to settle billions of pesos in unpaid health claims by its members to hundreds of private hospitals during the first year of the coronavirus pandemic. Dr. Jose de Grano, president of the Private Hospitals Association of the Philippines Inc. (Phapi), said PhilHealth’s unpaid claims to 700 private hospitals had so far amounted to P28 billion. This covers only the period from March to December 2020, as figures for the current year are not yet available, he said on Thursday. De Grano said the PhilHealth’s debts could reach up to P50 billion if public hospitals and other private health facilities outside Phapi’s membership were included.
