Imtiaz Ali is currently in the post-production stage of his next- the Love Aaj Kal sequel starring Sara Ali Khan and Kartik Aaryan. The filmmaker has apparently shown interest in another project- a biopic on the late singer Amar Singh Chamkila, also known as the Elvis of Punjab. According to a report in Mid-day, a quote said that not only is the filmmaker in talks with the singer's family but also is thinking of roping in either Kartik Aaryan or Ayushmann Khurrana for the role. According to the report, a source says, "The makers have obtained permission from the singer's family to translate his life story on celluloid. While the scripting is underway, the makers are already tossing around names for the male lead. Ayushmann Khurrana and Kartik Aaryan are tipped as the frontrunners for the role. Popular filmmaker Imtiaz Ali has approached Kartik Aaryan and Ayusmann Khurrana for his upcoming film which is the story of Punjabi folk singer, late Amar Singh Chamkila. Popularly known as the Elvis of Punjab, Amar Singh Chamkila was recognised for his songs that addressed extra-marital relationships, drug abuse and the patriarchal mindset of Punjabi men. According to a report in a popular tabloid, the director has acquired the rights and permission from the singer's family to depict his life-story on the big screen. The film is still in its scripting stage and for now, the makers are considering Ayushmann Khurrana and Kartik Aaryan to easy the titular role. BENGALURU: Young Bengalureans can’t stop looking for more refined culinary experiences. They are now trying out the varied tasting menus that restaurants across the city have been putting on offer. Tasting menus — a collection of several dishes in small portions served in a single meal — are popping up on menu cards of top restaurants, said Javed Ahmad, culinary director of Maziga in Whitefield, which offers a grand 15-course tasting menu. “People are moving on from the butter chicken and garlic naan routine and are looking to experiment with food. They want more variety and not just eat, but experience their food,” Ahmad said. In a week, Maziga gets requests for at least 10 tasting menus. On offer are dishes such as a chat masala yogurt spherification, quinoa upma with cod fish and kaffir lime sauce and white chocolate golgappas.
