MANILA – In the age of budget travel when flights and tours are at the reach of a fingertip, some holidaymakers may shy away from the idea of cruising, often associated with posh accommodations and steep expenses. The cost of cruising, however, is “practically the same” as that of a do-it-yourself trip, said Jan Lynch Imbat, marketing executive for Star Cruises, whose luxury fleet has been sailing the Asian seas for 25 years. “When you talk about budget travel, you only think of the flight. PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian passport is ranked as the fourth most powerful in Asia, maintaining its position for two consecutive years. The Henley Passport Index published its rankings via its website www.henleyglobal.com. The ranking meant Malaysian passport holders can travel to 166 countries visa-free. In Arton Capital's Passport Index in April last year, Malaysia ranked fourth as the most powerful passport in the world with a visa-free score of 156. Malaysia was tied with Japan in that index. According to its website, the Henley Passport Index itself ranks passports of the world according to the number of countries its holders can travel to visa-free. The Henley Passport Index is based on data from the International Air Transport Association (IATA), with additional in-house research conducted too.
