US stocks advanced on Friday as a strong jobs report and upbeat comments from President Donald Trump on trade talks with China breathed new life into markets after a roller-coaster week. A Labor Department report showed domestic job growth increased by the most in 10 months in November, aided by striking workers returning to General Motors' payrolls and more hiring in the healthcare industry. The report indicated the economy remained on a moderate expansion path despite a prolonged manufacturing slump. "Overall, this was a very solid report and should put those fears of recession firmly in the rear view," said Michael Arone, chief investment strategist at State Street Global Advisors, Boston. Global financial markets began on a strong note as Trump said trade discussions with China were "moving right along." Bitcoin takes bigger Wall Street stage with smooth CME debut

Bitcoin futures started trading Sunday night at CME Group Inc.’s venue, a week after Chicago rival Cboe Global Markets Inc. introduced similar derivatives on the volatile cryptocurrency. CME is a much bigger player in futures, so many traders expect it to make a bigger splash in the nascent space. CME got off to a faster start with more efficient pricing. Its most-active contract changed hands 221 times in the first hour versus 570 during Cboe’s debut. But that’s a win because CME’s contracts are five times more valuable -- they’re tied to five bitcoins compared with only one with Cboe’s futures. And CME’s futures were priced only about 2 percent higher than bitcoin itself; in the first day, Cboe’s got as much as 13 percent above, a sign trading was relatively inefficient. Leonardo DiCaprio, Laurene Powell Jobs, Brian Sheth team up to battle climate change
WASHINGTON D.C. [USA]: Hollywood and 'Titanic' fame actor Leonardo DiCaprio along with his environment charity are teaming up with Steve Jobs' widow Laurene Powell Jobs and billionaire investor Brian Sheth to launch a new alliance to tackle climate change.
