LONDON: Chelsea roared back into fourth spot in the Premier League as Christian Pulisic scored twice in an impressive 4-1 victory at London rivals Crystal Palace on Saturday. After boss Thomas Tuchel's long unbeaten run since taking charge ended abruptly against West Bromwich Albion last week, Chelsea responded in emphatic fashion. Kai Havertz punished some sloppy defending to give Chelsea an eighth-minute lead and Pulisic doubled their advantage two minutes later with a powerful finish. Chelsea totally dominated the first half and went 3-0 up on the half hour with a Kurt Zouma header. Palace did improve after the break and Christian Benteke's header gave them a lifeline but Pulisic made the points safe with a close-range finish after 78 minutes. Chelsea started the game in sixth place after Liverpool's last-gasp win against Aston Villa. Yet Chelsea's biggest win since Tuchel took charge in January moved them back above Liverpool and West Ham United into fourth ... » Learn More about Soccer-Chelsea demolish Palace with Pulisic double

Key figure: Deby at a Sahel summit in the French city of Pau in January last year N'DJAMENA - Chad headed into presidential elections on Sunday in which Idriss Deby Itno, the country's ruler for the last three decades, looks assured of a sixth term. A key ally in the West's anti-jihadist campaign in the Sahel, Deby, 68, is frontrunner in a six-candidate race without major rivals after a campaign in which demonstrations were banned or dispersed. Chad has struggled with poverty and instability since gaining independence from France in 1960. Its leader, Deby, is a former rebel and career soldier who seized power in a coup in 1990 and has twice, with French help, thwarted attempts to oust him. Other candidates include Albert Pahimi Padacke, 55, a former prime minister under Deby, and Felix Nialbe Romadoumngar, 64 -- officially "leader of the opposition" as his URD party has eight seats in the National Assembly. LONDON: Queen Elizabeth II has been left bereft at the death of her husband, Prince Philip, one of the couple's sons said on Sunday, as prayers were said at memorial services across Britain. Prince Andrew said his 94-year-old mother was "incredibly stoic" but had been hit hard by the death of the Duke of Edinburgh at the age of 99 on Friday. Last year the couple celebrated 73 years of marriage. "She described it (his death) as having left a huge void in her life," Andrew told broadcasters after a church service at Windsor Castle, west of London. He described his father as "the grandfather of the nation" and said close family were "rallying round" the queen in support.
