Jain monk Naypadmasagarji Maharaj announces Rs 3 lakh Covid scheme for a premium of Rs 2,200; the community already has a general medical scheme; 6,000 docs asked to help. With thousands of Jains contracting Covid-19 across the country, the community’s religious leaders have announced a special medical insurance scheme. By paying an annual premium of Rs 2,200, Jain community members can get a medical cover of Rs 3 lakh. A cashless form of insurance, it will include the entire medical treatment, quarantine expenses for 14 days, caregiving after being discharged from the hospital and even home quarantine expenses. In the past two days, 50,000 people have already enrolled for the policy.
