MANILA, Philippines — The theme park, Westworld, is back — and is officially open to perhaps tie up some loose ends of (personal) narratives left by the maiden season. From a viewer’s perspective, these stories are intertwined with the history and nature of the place (designed and run by Delos Destinations). Fans, who, in a way, are “returning guests” or “newcomers” themselves, know that the first season’s conclusion saw the takeover (or free rein) of the host-robots and the death of amusement runners. “Chaos Takes Control,” the show’s tagline-teaser, speaks volume of the Westworld’s future. Based on the pilot episode of Westworld season two, which airs Mondays at 9 a.m. on HBO, one can say that some continuity (connection between past and present) and another compelling drama have been established. The theme park remains a place where hosts and guests interact. Again, hosts are robots that are designed to live … [Read more...] about The theme park is back!

Speaking at the launch of the “Johor Hi-5” BN manifesto for the 14th General Election, Mohamed Khaled said that it was time for the Southern Tiger (Johor) to show its teeth and stripes, The Star reported. “For us to catch the lion, we must upgrade our tourism sector with new attractions because if Singapore has Gardens by the Bay, we will build a new tourism centre at the Desaru Coast worth RM4.5 billion ($1.2 billion, S$1.5 billion),” he was quoted as saying. By Elaine Glusac The New York Times Fri., March 2, 2018 Ever since the early 1960s, when Walt Disney chose Central Florida as the location for his most extensive theme park, Walt Disney World, Orlando has been synonymous with mouse ears, thrill rides and daily parades. But most locals readily divulge that fantasy fulfilment has little to do with the real life of urban Orlando. From the downtown region heading north to well-to-do Winter Park, the city is a checkerboard of intriguing neighbourhoods filled with historic bungalows, interesting galleries and cafés catering to the creative class. Nature is also a central attraction in the lake-filled city and suburbs that include warm springs preserves and parks with live oak stands. The glass-walled Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts, opened in 2014, has given downtown a cultural bump, and homegrown endeavours include a new orchestra devoted to modern classics and unstarched performances. FRIDAY 3 p.m., … [Read more...] about Discover in 36 hours that there’s more to Orlando than Mickey Mouse and theme park rides
