Has the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) lost out on a major sponsor or is a big-ticket sponsor reviewing its association with the Board? Mirror has learnt that a day after the meeting of the Governing Council of the Indian Premier League (IPL), one key partner has decided to review its association with the league as well as with the BCCI. The name of the brand could not immediately be verified, but it could well be Vivo. The BCCI had previously stated that it will review all its sponsorship deals with Chinese companies. “Taking note of the border skirmish that resulted in the martyrdom of our brave jawans, the IPL Governing Council has convened a meeting next week to review IPL’s various sponsorship deals,” it had said in a social-media post on June 19.
