The State Council for Educational Research and Training will hold a five-day workshop for content enrichment of textbooks for classes XI and XII from Monday. A similar exercise has been completed by the council for classes I to X.The council has urged schools to select five teachers from the Tamil and English mediums and depute them for the workshop. Participants are expected to provide suggestions to improve the textbooks. Recently, a group of teachers visited the Andamans for a workshop. They presented their experiences with the new syllabus, said a coordinator. A physics teacher, who was part of the team that authored the textbook, said the workshop would enable them to get feedback. Facebook forms ‘independent’ body for content oversight
NEW DELHI: Facebook has announced a 130 million dollar fund to form an "independent oversight board" to help the company make decisions on "content governance". The board will make final decisions on whether specific content such as a sensitive video or ad should be displayed on the site. The board’s decision will be binding and cannot be overturned even by CEO Mark Zuckererg, the company said. The company, however, said it will not announce its members this year, but revealed that the board will have at least three individual trustees and a corporate trustee, and would comprise 40 people. Kerala is working towards developinga Design Policy for promoting sustainable infrastructure thatemploys innovative designs for habitats and smart cities, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has said. He said the government will launch a 'Kerala Design Festival' by scaling up the existing KDW format through integration of multiple events. "That will make it theworld's largest and longest such annual event, the Chief Minister said adding "Kerala Tourism can market it globally so that it will be one more reason for the creative community to travel to Kerala."
